Take the Art in Quarantine Challenge and Recreate Famous Works of Art! 

Materials Required: computer with interest access; camera (your phone camera will work just fine).
Best for: all ages
Skills Developed: creativity; reflection.
Museums all over the world are asking folks to recreate famous works of art and share their photos on social media using the hashtag #tussenkunstenquarantaine (which means between art and quarantine in Dutch). First, take a virtual tour of some of the world’s most amazing museums (find links here), then choose your favourite painting and have some fun! 


Altered Images

Materials Required:
 Magazines or photos you can cut up/draw on; glue; paper; markers/pens/paint/crayons/pastels; scissors.
Best for: 12+
Skills Developed: creative expression; storytelling, self-reflection. 
Independent Activity
Challenge yourself to share how you see the world. Using images found in magazines, or your own photos (that you feel comfortable cutting up), add, change or add to images to reveal the messages, feelings or connections you experience when you look at the image. Use markers, paint or words cut from magazines to create a new work of art.
