Cara Nelissen

Cara Nelissen is a writer currently living on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and her chapbook “Pray for Us Girls” was published with Rahila’s Ghost Press in 2019. Her poetry and fiction has been published in several literary magazines, including Grain, Vallum, CV2 and The Humber Literary Review. Cara also teaches creative writing classes for the City of Burnaby. She loves helping students of all ages discover how fun and rewarding it can be to use language as a creative outlet.
