Tobi Asmoucha is a freelance photographer based out of Toronto. Tobi’s documentary images exploring themes of community and the rituals that bind them, have received a Gold National Magazine Award and many nominations, as well as Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Jewish Arts Council grants. Along with her photographic practice, Asmoucha teaches photography at Centennial College, Toronto School of Art, and Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography. She also leads many workshops with youth, and works as an artist in school. Currently Tobi Asmoucha is a core member of PhotoSensitive, with her documentary photographic work in collections at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Jewish Museum Berlin, and the Canadian War Museum.
